Rigel Mandolins

In the world of acoustic instruments, tradition is the standard. Rigel Mandolins take the proven standards of mandolin building and employ radical, new design concepts to create instruments that have the same power and tone of older mandolin construction, while introducing design concepts that allow for greater adjustability and tone. The modern stylings of Rigel mandolins set them apart in a world tradition.

The first difference between Rigel mandolins and more traditional mandolins is obvious from first glance. Rigel body shapes have a back and sides that are carved from the same cut of wood, tuned and voiced, and then topped with a top that undergoes numerous examiinations for proper voicing. The joint utilized to join the top and back is so strong, that one could string the instrument up with no glue holding the body together. In fact the neck joint does away with gluing, utlizing a bolt-on design that is becoming more common with instrument makers. These new construction methods allow for constancy of tone within their line.To complement their unique design and high construction standards, most RIgel models come standard with a piezo pickup system optimized for the instruments.

As for playability, a radiused fingerboard and the smooth lines of the body allow for speed and effortless playing. Many customers and store staff have noted the comfort of these instruments, providing a thoroughly enjoyable experience
