While
we were working on the east room, Michael was working on our
archway as well. A fine finish carpenter, Michael wanted to
create an inviting archway made entirely of fine woods to
reflect the quality of the instruments we sell.
This
is a picture of the early stages. On the right side of the
photo, the jam space and the mountain dulcimers have been
removed. The first pieces of the archway are in place as well.

The other
side of the same archway on the day before we began the big
show.

Late
on Friday afternoon, just a few minutes before we closed for
remodeling, Chris Bohn began to remove some of the paneling
in the west room. Needless to say, we got more than a few giggles
at the wallpaper below the paneling. Some of it was salvaged,
so some lucky person will be getting a pretty vibrantly wrapped
Christmas present this year! |

One of
the truly cool things covered by the drop ceiling in the west
room is this skylight. Unfortunately, it was roofed over some
years ago, but we hope to open it up to the sunlight within
the next couple of years.

 |
All of
Michael's preparation over the previous two weeks paid off
the very first evening we were closed. All of the ceiling
tile was removed in less than 3 hours.

Folk Celebrates 30 Years
|
| As
part of a year long celebration of our 30th anniversary, Andy & Don
decided to give the store a major facelift. These pictures are a brief
look at what we did. |
