Olympic
Torch Relay in Old Orchard-- June 17, 2004
|
|
The Olympic
Torch was carried right in front of Music Folk and through
the Old Orchard neighborhood on its way to the Webster Groves
City Hall on Thursday, June 17. The Merchants Association
decorated the streetscape and brought in three different music
groups to entertain the estimated 800 people on our sidewalks.

Our resident
artist, Tom Arri, designed our window sign commemorating the
Olympic Torch Relay.

A part
of the rather large crowd gathered in front of our store and
our neighbor, KFNS.

Coca
Cola was one of the sponsors of the event and distributed free
drinks as they rolled through Old Orchard. |

The
torch approacheth. |

After
all the waiting, it happened fast. This was, unfortunately,
the best close-up we got. |
